Zapier → n8n
Move your Zaps to n8n
Drop your Zapier export and see which Zaps convert to n8n automatically, what needs a check and how long the move takes. The report runs in your browser and is free. Filters, Paths, Formatter, Code by Zapier, Webhooks and Storage convert by rule, and converted workflows are validated before you download them.
Add your Zapier export
Drag and drop it anywhere in this box, or choose it from your computer.
The ZIP from Download my account data or the zapfile.json inside it. Zap JSON exports (exported-zap-….json) work too.
Unzipped the account data export already?
See a full report on four demo Zaps and convert one of them. Free, no signup.
Everything runs in your browser. The export is not uploaded to generate the report.
How to get your Zaps out of Zapier
- In Zapier, open Settings, then Security and data.
- Click Download my account data or Download all private and shared Zaps. Zapier emails you a link to a ZIP with all your Zaps, usually within minutes.
- Drop the ZIP above, or the
zapfile.jsoninside it.
- Open a Zap in the editor, click its name and choose Export a JSON data file.
- For all your Zaps at once: Settings → Security and data → Download my Zap workflows.
- Drop the JSON files above. The account data export is more exact: it keeps Zapier's own step ids.
- Connections: reconnect each app as an n8n credential.
- Catch-hook URLs: point every sender at the new n8n webhook URL.
- Storage values, Tables rows and Digest entries: copy them separately.
- 01 Your report appears on this page. It's free and your export isn't uploaded.
- 02 Convert one workflow free, or pay once to convert them all.
- 03 Download a ZIP with n8n workflow files and a checklist. In n8n, open the workflow menu and choose Import from File, or use the included bulk import script.
What becomes what
| Zapier | n8n | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Webhooks by Zapier (catch hook) | Webhook | The URL changes; point senders at the n8n URL. |
| Schedule by Zapier | Schedule Trigger | Same days and hour. |
| Filter by Zapier | If | Same rules: case-insensitive text, numbers, dates, AND/OR groups, stop rules. |
| Paths by Zapier | If per path | Every path whose rules match runs, left to right, as in Zapier. |
| Formatter by Zapier | Edit Fields | Text, numbers, dates and time zones, lookup tables and pick-from-list become n8n expressions. |
| Code by Zapier (JavaScript) | Code | inputData, output, return and fetch() keep working. |
| Code by Zapier (Python) | Code | Ported to JavaScript by the AI rewrite: n8n Cloud's Python can't import modules. |
| Webhooks by Zapier requests | HTTP Request | Same method, URL, data and headers. |
| Storage by Zapier | Code + static data | Values live in the workflow's own storage. |
| Delay by Zapier | Wait | Delay for, and delay until a date. |
| Email by Zapier | Send Email | Add an SMTP account. |
| AI by Zapier | OpenAI | Same prompt and JSON fields, with your own API key. |
| Google Sheets rows, Airtable records | HTTP Request | Same columns and field ids through the app's API and your credential. |
| Other apps | The app's n8n node | Added with your Zapier settings in its notes; the AI rewrite fills it in. |
Zapier-only products have no n8n twin: Tables move to an n8n Data Table, Interfaces forms to the Form Trigger, Chatbots to the Chat Trigger with an AI Agent, and Digest to a Data Table plus a schedule. The report says which of your Zaps use them.
Why teams move Zaps to n8n
- n8n Cloud bills one execution per workflow run, however many steps it has. Zapier counts a task each time an action step runs.
- Self-host n8n for free (Community Edition) and keep the data on your own server.
- Code runs in the workflow, branches can rejoin, and AI agents and LangChain nodes are built in.
How it works
- Download your Zapier account data (any plan) and drop the ZIP above.
- Read the free report: each Zap gets a traffic light, an effort estimate and the accounts to reconnect.
- Convert one Zap free, or all of them with a one-time plan (pricing). Import the files into n8n, connect your accounts and test.
Questions
Can n8n import Zapier Zaps directly?
No. n8n imports only its own workflow JSON and has no Zapier importer. This tool turns Zapier's export into n8n workflow files that you import with Import from File or through the n8n API.
Which Zapier export do I need?
On any plan: Settings → Security and data → Download my account data, or Download all private and shared Zaps. Zapier emails a ZIP whose zapfile.json holds all your Zaps, drafts included, with Zapier's own step ids; we checked it on a new account in October 2026. Team and Enterprise can also export Zap JSON files from the editor, but those renumber the steps, so the zapfile maps fields more exactly.
Do Paths behave the same in n8n?
Yes. In Zapier every path whose rules match runs, one after another from left to right. The converter gives each path its own If node, and n8n runs them in the same order.
What about my connections and webhooks?
Zapier doesn't export connections, so you connect each app once as an n8n credential. Catch-hook URLs change: point every sender at the new n8n webhook URL. Secrets typed straight into fields are listed in the report so you can move them to credentials.
Is my export uploaded?
Not for the report: it is built in your browser. Converting sends the Zap definitions to our server, which processes them in memory and keeps nothing.
How much does it cost?
The report is free, and so is converting one workflow. Converting them all is a one-time payment: Starter $49 for up to 25 workflows, Team $149 for up to 100 workflows, Agency $399 for up to 500 workflows.
